Well, plenty of people take voice memos. The real question is whether quantifying your life to such a degree is effective in creating positive change. Curious if you've come across any research on that.

I would actually recommend it highly! I actually trained as a perfumer rather than a wine taster. Being able to identify and name smells opens up a whole new dimension to appreciation food, perfumes, wine, and anything else that has an odor. And you don't actually end up spending much more: you can get an enormous range of good and interesting wine for < €25 per bottle. Anything over a 100 is more to do with status and marketing than improved flavour.

Harold McGee's book Nose Dive would be a great place to start if you'd like to learn more!

That personal dashboard is cool as heck!

I've had some olfactory recognition training, so I'm curious to hear more about your thoughts on the ACX wine essay.

Yes, its insane right? Slightly creepy to be running around with microphones all day long but could be fun trying it out.

My personal thoughts on the wine essay: I can definitely not tell the difference but could very well imagine that people like you who got a training can. However, not sure if in this case I want to get such a training - probably I will be as happy while spending less money when drinking bad wine without being able to tell that its bad. What are your thoughts as an expert?
